Louisa Hot Cakes

Our morning began with a grey and rainy drive out to Louisa County where we watched proceedings at the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. The drive back to Charlottesville included some "off roading" due to an unlatched trunk, and chats about world travel. We here in Room Without a View love our drives on I-64.

Hungry, we then to Hot Cakes and enjoyed sandwiches, sesame noodles, cookies and cupcakes. Known for its desserts, fresh sandwiches, lattes, and gourmet food bar items, it was perfect for the cold, dreary Friday. It was delicious and we left feeling satisfied. We were joined by our friend Ryan who works as a law intern at another office in Charlottesville. Being new to Hot Cakes, he gave us the following review: "Nice use of dual cash registers on oppo sides of the dessert bar for traffic reduction. Great noodles. Could be the name of a strip club."

Now we're back in the office. One plus to a room with no windows: The rainy weather is no longer visible! With these bright fluorescent lights, we can just as easily imagine that it's a hot summer day!
